Open Door Baptist Church

PURPOSE: To exalt the Lord, edify the church, and be an example to unbelievers by serving the Lord in music ministry and worship leading at Sunday morning services and occasional outreach events.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Commit to serve faithfully in orchestra/choir for one year.

2. Faithfulness to Sunday AM services and ABF.

3. Sunday AM Music Ministry.
a. Orchestra Rehearsal at 8:30am/Choir rehearsal at 9:10am.
b. Prayer at 9:15am.

4. Commitment to scheduled Rehearsals.
a. Weekly—Wednesdays at 6:30/6:45pm.
b. Seasonal—See Dates/Times on the Upcoming Calendar.

5. Participation in Christmas Event.

6. Assist in welcoming and training new orchestra/choir members.

GUIDELINES:
1. Maintain a daily walk with the Lord & life of integrity.

2. Stay alert to the orchestra/choir schedule.
Be sure to mark rehearsal & performance dates on your personal calendar. Please be prompt and on time for rehearsals, services, and events.

3. Communicate with your director about concerns, schedule conflicts, and absences.
Please record any planned absences on the appropriate form at rehearsal. Four rehearsal misses per semester are permitted for sickness or schedule conflicts.

4. Dress nicely and in modest attire.
Please keep in mind 1 Tim 2:9-10: “women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control . . . with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.”
a. Ladies: Dress, dress pants or skirt with modest blouse for Sunday AM.
b. Men: Collared shirt & dress slacks for Sunday AM.
Coat & tie for special event performances (Christmas, Easter, etc.).

5. Be a positive orchestra/choir member during rehearsals, services, and events:
a. Delight in the Lord & enjoy ministry with the church body!
b. Be a servant & stay focused.
c. Refrain from unnecessary talking.
d. Pray with other worship team members before each worship service.
e. Keep a godly attitude.
